"Just One Fly" continued...
.....“Wendy,” I said as she reappeared from the barn, “that would drive me literally insane, getting my rear munched on forever like an everlasting dream supper for a fat hungry carnivore.”
.....“What, the fly on that Chestnut over there? He doesn’t care,” she asserted.
.....“And just how do you know that,” I inquired?
.....“Simple,” she said. “It’s only one fly.”.
.....“Excuse me?”
.....“That’s right, to him, Keith over there, he just swatted his first fly, it is not happening over and over again. Horses have a short memory for things like that. Very short. By the time said fly takes his second bite, Keith forgot the first bite. Simple. It’s the first fly ever for Keith.”
.....“What, like Pony Alzheimer’s, I asked?
.....“You bet,” the Barefoot Lady said with absolute certainty. And with that she turned and headed back to the barn.
